Hey, guys!
I have to say,
working on posts again made me realize how much I’ve missed it. The thing is, I
think I overwhelmed myself when I started. I followed more than 200 blogs,
which I couldn’t keep up with and ended up stressing out about it rather than
enjoy scrolling through a list of blogs I really enjoy reading.
So I took the
time to unfollow blogs that haven’t put a post out for more than 6 months or
have a completely different tastes than I do or content I am not interested in
(which does not mean, that they are not great, great blogs). I still follow
many, but they all inspire and excite me, so it’s all good! I've also signed up for bloglovin' as you can see on the right and finally added my favorite blogs over there. The good thing about bloglovin' is that I am able to follow some of my favorite blogs, that didn't show up on my blogger's reading list, so it was more difficult to keep up.
Moving onto today’s
post, I am doing something rather embarrassing, yet true - the second installment of Renate's closet diaries! (If you're wondering what the hell am I talking about, here's a little explanation.) The first edition got so much attention and is still one of the most popular posts I've done. It's been forever since and so I decided to publish my modest and borderline boring bag collection.
I've never been really into bags as an accessory (as the photographic evidence clearly shows) - as long as I found something simple, affordable, black or brown, spacious, versatile and practical - I was a happy camper. I also think it's a pain to repack your bag ever so often, so I am a big fan of the one-bag-is-all-you-need concept.
I actually think, that a few staples is absolutely acceptable as long as your wardrobe is based around the outfits and is pretty simple. However, I am really curious to hear, if you guys have any feedback and will point out clear lacks and advice.
Here's basically the whole thing. And even then I only use 2 of the bags for 95% of the time. Can we say I am stuck in a rut? In the bottom row (from the right) we have my trusty Zara Shopper's bag. With a handling, that would make any fashionista cringe, this bag looks pretty beat-up. I've literally taken it anywhere. Grocery shopping, school, beach, airport, job interviews (you get the point). Apart from being unable to stand straight anymore, I wasn't too happy with the fact, that there is no zipper. I mean, it's just too easy for anybody to not only see the entire contents of my bag, but possibly even reaching in and pulling out random items. So, recently (just before Christmas, actually), I treated myself to a Laura Bag, which you can see on the right. I am very happy with it, as it was exactly everything I mentioned a good bag to be in my opinion - affordable, simple, comfortable, spacious, black and versatile. I've been carrying this bag ever since I got it. Everywhere, all the time. Slightly below and in the middle - my gym + traveling bag. I still love it and even though find it hard to carry it around for a long time, when it's heavy, I am very glad I have it.
Next row is my brown every day bags. From the left - a vintage one my boyfriend got for me last Christmas from a little vintage boutique in our town. It's so cute and high quality, however, I rarely get to wear it, especially in the wintertime due to the small size and the relatively short strap. In the middle - this summer's buy from my Bulgaria trip - a Zara Basic Shopper bag, which is even cheaper now. And on the left - a very old buy. I believe it's from Bershka? Or Pull & Bear some 5 or 6 years ago. To be honest, I think it's time we parted, although we had some really good times.
On the upper rows, we can see my basic strap and clutch collection. Two shoulder strapped ones - one brown, one black, of course. The black one is leather, actually and was an impulse buy about 4 years ago. The other - an even older necessity buy.
The rest - a basic black clutch for going out, a dressy H&M rose textured clutch and a coral bought specifically for the wedding I attended.
Allright, I think that actually concludes this post. What do you think? Just quickly - I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I am currently writing this at my boyfriend's family's summerhouse, which is the coziest place on the entire earth - the fireplace is lit, the wine is cooling down and the rain & wind is storming outside. It's things like these, that make me feel content and charged again. Talk to you soon!

I don't like it either, especially re-packing or not being able to fit all the necessities! Useless :) When you have one (or a couple of) good one(s) - that's all you need!
DeleteYou're so welcome! Thanks so much for dropping by my blog and taking the time to comment :)
